Sandplay

Sandplay is a therapeutic practice that grew out of Jungian psychology.

The invention of Dora Kalff, a close friend of the Jung family, sandplay is a deeply creative but silent process of arranging figures in a small box of sand. The principle of sandplay is that the psyche expresses itself and transforms by projecting itself into the story imaged in the tray.

Week by week new images emerge and take form in the sand, both tracking and bringing about growth in the psychological structure of the client.

Elaine trained with the Sandplay Therapists of America. Her article “The serpent power: Kundalini.” was published in the Journal of Sandplay Studies in 2002.
