Telephone Consultations and Dreamwork

Depth psychotherapy by telephone became a tradition in the Jungian world, in many cases from necessity (Jungian analysts are still rare and were until recently much rarer) but also by choice, for the same reason that listening to a play on the radio is in some ways deeper and more engaging than seeing it on television: the spoken word encourages depth and inner engagement with the image.

Alaska, Elaine’s home for over 20 years, has proved to be an especially fruitful locale for distance analysis, and it has become an integral part of her practice.

Currently Elaine works with people all across the roadless country of “bush” Alaska from the arctic North to pelagic Southeast, as well as with clients outside the state.

Typically dreams and other material are sent via e-mail and then discussed on the telephone.
