Al Collins, Ph.D.

Al Collins, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist specializing in applied neurophysiology, mindfulness and cognitive therapy, child and family psychology, and depth psychotherapy .

His work with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) includes a multimodal approach with both children and adults. He has had extensive training and experience with the neurophysiology of the disorder, and has been active in the field. This has included twice being on the board of directors of the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research and a Consulting Editor of the Journal of Neurotherapy.

The author of the book Fatherson: A Depth Psychology of the Archetypal Masculine and many published papers (some available here), he has a second Ph.D. in the languages and thought of India.

He writes and lectures on Indian and Western psychology of the self, and is a former Associate Professor of East/West Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and an Ouside Reader or Supervisor at Pacifica Graduate Institute, Capella University, CIIS, Union Institute, and Saybrook.
